Arctaris Announces Hiring of Alan Halfenger, formerly of Bain Capital, as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Boston, MA, July 13, 2021 – Arctaris Impact Investors, LLC (“Arctaris”) and its affiliate management companies announce the addition of Alan Halfenger as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Halfenger brings nearly three decades of legal and compliance experience where he served as Global Chief Compliance Officer at Bain Capital, LP, and in leadership roles at both ACA Compliance and Treliant.

Minority-Owned Market Slated for La Cité Location

Baltimore, MD, March 16, 2021 – Market Fresh Gourmet, a minority-owned Maryland-based business, in partnership with Arctaris Impact Fund, a fund focused on building sustainable communities in Baltimore City, will focus on local employment opportunities with recruitment and training efforts through its workforce development programs. The grocer will provide fresh foods and prepared foods along with classes and special events for the neighborhood. As other phases of the Center\West project come online, the grocer will also expand its footprint.

March 10, 2021 Regional news website TribLIVE discusses Arctaris partnership with Richard King Mellon Foundation, which played a significant role in the region’s development for more than seven decades.  RKMF helped underwrite everything from Pittsburgh’s original emergence from its status as the Smoky City during Renaissance I in the 1950s to the Digital Foundry, a new high-tech facility in New Kensington’s Corridor of Innovation.

Foundation partners to invest $20M in distressed ‘opportunity zones’ around the region

March 10, 2021 As reported in the Pittsburgh Gazette, the Richard King Mellon Foundation is teaming with a Boston firm to invest $20 million in job initiatives and economic development in distressed communities in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. The fund will target job creation and economic development initiatives in low-income communities in Allegheny, Westmoreland counties.
